If you are prepared to pay for airfares and accommodation to go and see Ayu, the ~$50USD to pay for an annual TA membership is such a small fraction of your costs to go to Japan.
It is ludicrous people feel 'burnt' when you have to remind yourself that the 'international fanbase' still makes up for a minute portion of revenue for avex, Ayu and the wider JPop industry. Be glad Ayu is one of the select few JPop artists that even have an international fanclub.
