Nakata used to be a Jpop god to me. I was so enamored with all of the electro music coming from Japan in the late 2000s and I loved everything he produced. But I feel that he has been influenced by western EDM and it has made his songs more dull to me. I know Perfume is a mainstream act and wants to follow trends but I feel like they were successful already when they were more original.
Their current output isn't bad at all but I don't get that excited to see what they will do next because I know it will be the standard Perfume of the last 4 years.
