^ that's a lot of £ you spent on hotel accomodation alone
I learnt from experience that conbini are a lifesaver in Japan and frankly if you live near 1 or a supermarket it's even better
When I 1st went back Tokyo in 2012 to attend a concert for the 1st time , I stayed at Ginza . Posh area yes but very inaccessible as I took the airport limousine bus and I was so unprepared how big the train stations were in Tokyo
Last week of 2014 & 1st week of 2015 when I went to attend a countdown live in Yokohama , I went back Tokyo again and more prepared . This time , I stayed at another area and the hotel my friend recommended (cost significantly lower too) was great , there's a Family Mart literally right besides the hotel and walking distance was a Seiyu supermarket with a few other Family restaurants
Most importantly the train station is small as it only has 1 exit so I didn't got lost and I took the Keisei Skyliner which saved me so much trouble unlike taking the airport limousine bus
Subsequently my sister stayed at the same hotel twice , most recently when she went back Tokyo again last month
You can stinge on hotel accomodation & food costs in Japan but you cannot do that for their transport cost sadly
Train stations in Japan that're big with many different exits scares me . The Namba station in Osaka is tail spinning for me
