I don’t mean this as a drag on Namie, so I hope nobody gets offended. But, as I stated, I have always had a strong dislike for Beyonce’s music. It’s very “noisy,” with excessive “clapping” and it attempts to bring the energy that way rather than with a composition that lifts you. Now, there are some Namie songs I absolutely adore, but they are the odd ones out when you compare them to her usual style. While I was going through FINALLY, I was skimming around through each track and asking myself, “Can I honestly see myself listening to this in the future?” in order to declutter some of my music collection. Many of the songs gave me that same kind of vibe - noisy, with a ton of claps - even some of the ballads I could have seen Beyoncé singing. I have a similar disdain for the majority of both artists discographies, for some of the very same reasons, and I’m similarity baffled as to why they both are so popular and centerpieces to their respective media’s.

I could perhaps see a similarity to J.lo and/or Janet, but both of those artists have a lot of songs I like and as a whole both of those artists release songs that are way more melodic than Beyoncé and Namie both. In a nutshell, I don’t find Namie’s music very melodic, and neither, in my opinion, is Beyoncé’s.
