Best case scenario for the album was always around 17k, based on the first week of DNA. Worst case scenario were final sales around 14k, based on the first week of AND. That said, she has done what she needed to do. That was proving to be a solid and stable investment.
I'm not sure what to make of the current Japanese industry. With streaming and track equivalent numbers, it's hard to pinpoint what "popularity" means. Yeah, some groups sell well physically, but their streams and downloads tell another story too.
I personally think Oricon could do better on providing a clearer picture similar to how Billboard has done in the U.S. regarding the Hot 100 and 200 album charts.
