You can ask any questions in the discord server as well (and it'll be easier to signpost you there), but all you have to do is sign up to the event and join the voice channel when it begins on December 31st. Your microphone will be automatically muted; discord just requires anyone viewing a stream to also join the voice chat.

Here is a screenshot of where to navigate to the event - it should be at the top left of your discord program. The time you see there is for my timezone, but your discord will automatically display what the start time will be for your location.
