"beloved" is defined as "dearly loved" and is a synonym of "dearest" which has the definition of "Loved and cherished"
However, "dear" and "dearest" can be applied to many things, not just human relationships. e.g. That watch was near and dear to my heart. On the other hand "beloved" is rarely used other than in the context of a deep loving relationship.
Personally, it sounds weird when you say "my beloved friend" , rather "my dearest friend" sounds more appropriate ..."beloved" sounds better when you are talking about someone who is your soulmate, the one you love deeply -> "my beloved husband"
"My dearest husband" would be a step down in emotional level I would think. Sorry if that was confusing.
edit: Actually if you had used "my love" instead of "my dear" it would have sounded just as good and have a deeper meaning. but meh..it's all good hehe
