from: Japan Today
Quote:
TOKYO — Pop and musical singer Minako Honda, known for her portrayal of the role of "Kim" in Miss Saigon, died of acute myelocytic leukemia at a Tokyo hospital Sunday morning, her family said. She was 38. Honda, whose real name was Minako Kudo, made her pop music debut in 1985 and released a range of hits including "One way Generation."
In 1992, she was chosen to play the part of Miss Saigon's protagonist Kim. She went on to perform key roles in such musicals as "Fiddler on the Roof" and "The King and I." In January, she was diagnosed with acute myelocytic leukemia and had since been hospitalized.

It's very sad to hear, she was so young, a great talent. I'm going to upload my favorite song from her 'the Cross' in her honor.
