idols have different rules than just a singer or actor/actress. they are supposed to be pure and innocent.
kago getting suspended, imo, isn't that big of a deal. it's just a road she has to take and hopefully she realizes if she's gonna smoke, she'll do it in the privacy of her own home.
and mari knew she wasn't allowed to have a boyfriend. again, it's the rule of an idol and she KNEW that. at least, if she was gonna have a boyfriend, try harder not to get caught.
she had lied to her company earlier and said she didn't have a boyfriend when asked. it's better to come clean then to end up getting caught.
it's just what comes along with being an idol. you go into the industry, no matter what you have an image you HAVE to uphold.
