I think that suspending her was wayyyyy overboard. Look, singers/actors are 'role models,' but I feel they aren't because, they are normal people as well and are human. They make mistakes and pay for them in the end. They live and learn.

It's like saying celebrities in America or any place else isn't banned from acting if they get accuations of doing drugs.
She commited a crime. Some people actually get fired from certain jobs when they become criminals. It's not overreaction, we should be gkad she was only suspended. Plus do we even know what was written in the terms when she signed in for the job? The terms were probably clear enough that she should stay away from problem. Since she's underage the company could get sued by the family accusing the company for the fact the girl ended up starting smoking. It was more than fair and definitely not an overreaction. (what if the other Hello! Project! girls parents get worried about their underaged daugthers working along people who break laws such as Ai and decide that their children shouldn't work for the company anymore? There are way too many issues that could justify the reason for her suspension. It was not random.)
And yep, I agree she's just like normal people. Normal people could get fired or suspended from their jobs for breaking laws so the same things should stick to artists.
