Ayu has written all lyrics for all her songs now. Except for maybe a few like Sotsugyou shashin and Love ~since 1999~ Your friend is confused between whether she composed it, or wrote the lyrics.
I suggest your friend should watch the alterna PV and the NTV interviews before making anymore assumptions about how hollow she is. =p
