Ayu is a product, that is very very true. She says so herself. But she's an awesome product. Ayumi Hamasaki has enough mental and physical strength to cope with the image and promotion of the product 'Ayu'.
And Ayu composed 28 songs, arranged 1 song, and wrote about 125 songs. Plus, Ayu has alot of say (especially after 2001) in her career; how her PVs are like, how her concerts are like, what she does and what she releases. Also, Ayu 'supervises' most of her songs. She picks a composition, and thinks: "hmm I want this song sound like this.. I'd better ask Tasuku if he can do that..."
