When you mention if I'd be a fan if Ayu was a man I immediately come to think about Gackt. Well, they're not very much alike in any way, but considering I can be completely into male artists aswell I see no problem in liking Ryu Kawasaki. It was Ayumis music that I fell for from the start, if the artist name would have been Ryu but the music still of equal greatness I would still have loved it.

On the other hand, I'm thinking those thoughts aswell. My "fandom" would never be able to grow to the same extent, I would probably not be here, because it's impossible for me to see another person with the same persona as Ayumi. Very hard to know. It was Ayumis music that first got me caught, then I was captured by her being, I have no clue if Ryu would be able to do the same.
