I think that you can dislike a song but still have an appreciation for it. Even the songs by Ayu I'm not too fond still have many good, redeeming qualities about them. Thus, although they might not be suited to my personal taste, I still have an appreciation for them because liking them is perfectly justifiable. If you are an open-minded fan that is receptive to change, I'm sure you can atleast develop an appreciation for any of Ayu's work.
