Dont regret taking Rihanna though. She has pretty awesome music. But her singing and voice falls flat somehow. Can be overlooked by her music though.

That's the best definiton for American music ever. Other mainstream stuff that are burning the charts and sound good would be Paris Hilton (porny lyrics), Pussycat Dolls (sexual content to the max), Cassie, Evanescence, Natasha Bedingfield.
If you liked Sixpence None The Richer, you might want to try Leigh Nash's latest solo stuff. She's the lead singer of that band. Her music and vocals are so heavenly, like sugar candy floss dipped in clouds and sun-dried in heaven. I love it, especially "My Idea of Heaven".
