Vicky Zhao Wei is an awesome actress, but she can also sing. I haven't heard any of her albums though... My mom has the soundtrack of one of her drama and almost all of the songs are sung by her! Of course, it's not, how can I say... "popular" music. More traditional and classic chinese. It's not pop. I like that kind of chinese songs.
I don't think chinese artists are trying to be "j-pop". I don't get what you mean by that, Anthony. But the recent and new artists are so boring... I agree though. The ballads and pop songs kinda sound alike.
