Notes:

1. 掴む means to grasp [at]. This gives it a sense of past urgency, as in "we so easily throw away things we once just HAD to have, in order to get more of the things we just HAVE to have now."

2. Although it is hard to tell without the musical phrasing yet, I don't take this から to be a "because"-clause attached to the previous line. In Japanese, you can make an individual statement + から, to sort of leave off what can be a concluded effect. (Ex: "I am very strong... [so you don't have to worry about me] / [so let me do my thing]) Ayu did this in the choruses of Endless sorrow, as well.

3. "Light", the noun meaning the opposite of "darkness", not the adjective meaning the opposite of "heavy".
