come to think of this matter....
...the deadly fine and jail penalty....i think it's just another way to stop people sharing music...i think the modus operandi r like this...they go find some target that can afford to pay the fine and make them pay for it...then go find another target and collect from them...and not to forget...each time they grabbed some poor guy and made him paid or jailed...put it on medias..newspaper, national tv..etc...to show what these RIAA guyz can do to u...and to struck terror to the public, sharing community and offenders...the point is to struck terror...so people stop sharing goods...there's no way to stop this sharing matter..but RIAA saw a way to curb it....
...so what u can do is...i think..stop sharing for a while...and get yer files off the net...u can always unshare or share which files u want in p2p programs...u dun hav to delete yer files...although they can still hack into yer pc to see wether u got mp3 or not...regardless the fact u r sharing it or not....so i think another way is to modify the *.mp3 extension...into something else...
... i think they dun sue underage offenders....but maybe the parents have to pay for it...this is also another way...for RIAA to rally people to enforce this matter...if the parents would be responsible of the kids doing..then many parents would be aware and start to monitor their kids net activity...so...RIAA got themselves unofficial enforcement at home...and same goes to college students....maybe the institution would have to take responsibility....and the institutions will start to monitor their students net activity tooo....so the problem would be curb from the root....
just from my point of view....i think...
