You like jazz?! That rawks! I heart Jazz! It's a challenge to listen to it, that's why love it. Plus it's just one of the grooviest styles of music out there ever. Gets me going too. Definitely.
I think the problem with rap/hiphop is the same as the problem with music in general. I mean, there's good rap. I LOVE Aesop Rock, The Pharcyde and Black Star. But there's just too many crap, and that crap out there is what makes all the CDs cost so damn much! There's 1000s of CDs with thos 'Pimpin' hoes and bitczhehs wud get da dough' lyrics, who's gonna buy all that crap? NOONE. Jeez, ppl should get real and realize customers aren't THAT stupid that they'll be everything released.
But as I said, it's the same with most music (most mainstream music actually). There's good R n B (I guess, I wouldn't know cuz I have but one R n B record, Melky Sedeck's debut which is a great album btw) and there's loads and loads of bad R n B. There's good punkrock and there's bad punkrock. If record companies would just get real and stop releasing all the bad crap maybe things'd get better!
Oh yeah, and the fact that they shut down Audiogalaxy pisses me off cuz it was the best ever!
