I use my CD player often--I received the CD player probably around 10 years ago or so...but it still works very well and has great sound on it. My laptop has a decent sound system, too (haha, just checked--both my laptop and my CD player are Sony

)...but sometimes I don't want to listen to music on my laptop because I want a more surround sound feel from my CD player.
Besides, when I do rip CDs to my computer, I only rip the ones I will actually listen to on my computer. Movie soundtracks/classical music/etc. CDs are usually reserved for CD player only.
Also, I do have an iPod, but I only use it when I'm walking to/from classes or working out. All other times, I rely on my laptop or my CD player for music.
