She's from Foxboro, MA, which is the town next to mine. About a month ago, I was at The 99 (it's a chain restaurant), and I saw her walk in while my family and I were waiting to be seated. My brother and I got all ecstatic and walked over to her. She was on her cell phone and was with some woman with blonde hair (probably her mother). It looked as if she was trying to hide herself, but we really wanted to introduce ourselves anyways; so we did.
I tapped her on the shoulder and she turned around, then I said "Are you JoJo?" and she replied "Yeah". So we talked for about two minutes. I told her that "I think you have an amazing voice. I saw you singing 'Too Little Too Late' on the Ellen Show the other day, and it was fantastic." She was like, "Thank you so much! You're so sweet." I was glad that she wasn't a *****, but who would be when they're being complimented? She then asked my brother and I if we were from Foxboro (which is where that specific "99" was), but we said, "No, we're from ____ (the town next over)". She also said that she was going to be shooting her next video in about a week.
Eventually, she said, "Oh, sorry. We have to go right now", so I gave her a hug (to which she hugged back, instead of standing static as I had expected her to do). Then she walked away with the woman. My brother and I wanted to ask for a picture, but we felt it might have been too rude of us after already bothering her while she was waiting. It was the first time that I had ever met a celebrity (besides Kenneth Branaugh if he counts), so it was a great experience. I couldn't help but shake the entire time. Her kindness could have been a facade, but the fact that she was kind to my brother and I was enough to make me respect her. I still haven't bought her new CD though
