Songs and albums don't sell because they are better than something else and we shouldn't even discuss our personal tastes and think the stuff's selling cuz we like it
. Good music doesn't always sell. Kana had some of the biggest hits in jpop world during the last 2 years and that's why her previous album was so successful. Even though if, Distance and Esperanza are imo among her best singles Thank you, Love isn't going to sell more than 400k and considering that her previous album nearly reached 700k, I'd say that's a big drop. Sure she could always make another smash hit and do better with the next album, but I am not sure if she'll be in a spotlight for that long. Ku has never reached the Namie level, let alone the Ayu/Hikki level of popularity, Kana is still far from being the next Koda Kumi let alone the other three.
Now imo, singles aside Thank you, Love is Kana's weakest album to date.
