It sold poorly compared to the three albums that come before it (LOVEppears, Duty and A BEST) but I believe it is the best selling post-BEST release album in Japan.

Ayu is pretty much the only Japanese female solo-artist who can still sell a stable amount after their best album. Mai Kurai, Namie Amuro went from multi-million album sales to less than 500k. Hikki is just starting to suffer now, but her new Japanese album may prove more sucessful than her singles released this year. IMO, if A BEST was never released, I am... would've sold 4 million and RAINBOW would've sold 3 million. I am... only sold less than Duty because of A BEST.
