It's not even that for me, because some of her songs actually sounds nicer in her deep voice too! They were always weak points on their respective albums to me (that said I don't hate them, and don't think they are awful). Do you feel differently about the Island Mix of It Was? Honestly it's soooo good. It changes the feel of the song completely, and really highlights the melancholic vibe of the lyrics (as well as her vocal quality and tone).
