I don't get why we even bother looking at Oricon rankings anymore when they refuse to count digital sales, which is what most people are buying. Even that guy who snuck into the Fukushima red zone and saw an entire CD shop completely untouched and stocked was like "Who buys CDs anymore?"
The groups that chart on Oricon are often Groups that put out 6 or 7 versions of the same single or album, and crazy fans will buy one of each version, and those sales all count together. If groups like AKB47 didn't do this, they'd fizz out... and Ayu clearly doesn't need to do this, or she would have fizzed out by now.
Ayu's doing just fine, and she doesn't need Oricon to justify that.
