Idol group, NMB48 have reached the top spot in the singles chart with their 7th single, "Bokura no Eureka". This is their highest first week sales as well as their best-selling single so far, surpassing their 4th single, "Nagiichi" (May last year) which sold 376k in the first week and 451k in total. Their first album, "Teppen Tottande!" which was released in February this year is the no.1 album for the first half of 2013, achieving it as only the 2nd female group to do so since Pink Lady made it 35 years ago. In addition of topping the singles chart 6 times as well as 3 consecutive no.1 singles, it is also their 3rd year in a row to successfully reach no.1 since their debut single, "Zetsumetsu Kurokami Shoujo" (July 2011). Other female artists who have spent 3 consecutive years at no.1 since debut are Matsuda Seiko (1980~), Yakushimaru Hiroko (1981~), Nakamori Akina (1982~), and Morning Musume (1998~).
In the albums chart, popular rock unit, B'z have achieved no.1 and no.2 rankings for the second consecutive week with their 25th anniversary best albums, "B'z The Best XXV 1988-1998" and "B'z The Best XXV 1999-2012" respectively. The last time an artist has reached the top 2 spots in the albums chart for two weeks in a row was one year and one month ago with Mr.Children who achieved it with "Mr.Children 2005-2010" and "Mr.Children 2001-2005" respectively. As for B'z, the last time they reached no.1 for two weeks in a row was 14 years and 8 months ago when "B'z The Best "Treasure"" (September 1998) topped the chart for three consecutive weeks.
