Just finished watching Power Of Music 2011

Hello. I'm a relatively new fan of ayu, and I would like to share a story today. I have never seen ayu perform live before, and Power of Music is my first live performance of ayu that I have watched so far. I ordered the blu-ray disc and it came in the mail recently. After hearing that I ordered this expensive disc ($50+), some friends of mine said they would like to watch it as well to see what it was all about. So I pushed off watching it until we could all get together and watch it as a group.

The concert was amazing, it left us all laughing and crying. The set was great, the dancers were great, the band members were awesome, and the performance as a whole was spectacular. I loved how she included the strings and horns, they were an awesome addition. The last songs (Born to Be..., A Song is Born, Thank U) were so sad (seeing the little girl cry in Thank U ), especially with the earthquake and all. The part that just hit me the hardest thought was at the end when she put down the microphone to thank everyone, and the whole arena was silent. That sealed the deal and I just started crying

It was amazing, we all can't wait to watch more. I'm thinking of getting RnR Circus and HLS next. Ayu and all of her team really do put on an amazing show, and we all can't wait to watch more of her performances. Thank you for taking your time to read a story from a new fan

I love hearing stories from fans! So nice that your friends watched the concert with you.

(I watch my Ayumi concerts alone...although I may prefer it that way!)

EDIT: 1,000th post!

IMO Ayu is one of the best live performers out there... Even if her voice is not the best one one the game, the amount of emotion, presence and starpower she brings everytime is just unique.

Enjoy, you have a lot of great concerts to watch xD

This is so nice! Ayu sure stands out when performing, because she demonstrates so much emotion, she's so charismatic it's almost impossible not to love seeing her live. And PoM is amazing, it's a really meaningful tour and my absolute favorite

And it's so nice that you got your friends to watch together and they all liked Ayu as well!

I've yet to watch the whole thing, but from what I saw, it seemed very good. It caught my attention (IE i wanna sit down and WATCH IT), and lives never do that tbh.
(unlike an angela aki live, where thats more like BGM and i play it in the background because she always sounds like the cd and its like listening to a slightly updated 2 albums....)

Get RnR Circus next - it's awesome! My favourite used to my My Story until RnRC and PoM is in my top three I think (excluding CDLs!)

This. I can think of a number of artists who are "technically" better than she is, but she's my favourite performer for the reasons listed above. There's really nothing like watching Ayumi Hamasaki do her thing on stage! <3

PoM was a great starting point. Hope you enjoy the amazing journey that is going through Ayu's tours through the years!

Great start! Rock'n'Roll Circus tour is greatness! But my favorite Ayu tour of all time is AT05! I think you should go for that too!

Great!
I also enjoyed many of her concerts with friends

RnR C is great, also HLS too!
I would say after this you can invite them to enjoy
2009s NEXT LEVEL,
2005s MY STORY and
2006s (miss)understood tour ^^

I'm happy you and your friends enjoy watching it!
RnRC Tour would be great for the next watching session, I suggest AT05, AT06, AT07 and AT08 as well

It's really nice that you and your friends watch it together. I hope one day I get to find some friends to do this too. There are many other BDs that you don't wanna miss--I have watched AT 2008, AT 2009, AT 2010, CDL 2009-10, CDL 2010-11 many many times. Though BDs are kinda expensive, they are totally worth buying!

Really? Wow. I think that's one of my least favorite concerts because of all the arrangements being different...

I'd suggest the RnRC Tour or PCDL!

This was actually my first concert as well, watching it last year made me totally fall in love with Ayu! I just stumbled upon one of the performances on youtube and was in awe and had to own it. Although I had heard Ayu before PoM made me a suuuper fan.

Arena Tour 2006 ~(miss)understood~ is still my favorite tour, but I've recently really started to enjoy the PoM live cd so I really need to re-watch the tour!

I watched A Museum back when it was released with my cousins and it was really fun.

Given the fact that PoM probably has one of the most glorious openers of all time and vastly benefits from the iconic MY STORY Classical influences, you can frankly consider your decision as a clever move in order to introduce Ayu to your friends.

The gloriousness behind Ayu's 2011 performance of "forgiveness" still is beyond my understanding.
