Promotional CDs?
what are they for? i mean why japanese people have to publish this promotional CD? won't the record store just increase the number of the bootlegs from what they rip from the promo CD? do they have a significant difference from the original CDs that are going to be released?
oh... i'm really confused...

They have to publish promotional CD so stores and radio stations can play their new music legally and people get interesed on it
 Promotional CDs usually contains the same or less amount of songs than the original CD they are promoting They can be like an exact copy of the original CD but with a text printed on the CD: not for sale, for promotional use only.. ..or sometimes they don't have booklet and just a text with the artist and the songs printed on the CD

the main purpose of promotional cd is for the music stores to play them to attract people to buy.
it's better then opening a new cd and play, as that means one less cd to sell

They're also sent to media publications for reviews, or used within avex for various reasons. Avex employees and employees of companies who work with avex get promos too.
