Most of the time, these videos have people lip-syncing to live rips of Ayu performances. I think it's a drag queen show?

Yeah, it is a drag show and there's that group that frequently does Ayu-related shows and some of them look really good; it is just lip-synching but the choreography is good, and then at least they all get really into it, which makes it all the more convincing (as you all can tell, since it tricked many of you
 )
