Trilogy veterans

HEY I WAS WONDERING, is anyone here a fan since the last trilogy was released? If so, how different is it this time around?

Like promo, did everyone think the covers were boring but then liked the way they tied in at the end, tv performances, aaanything?

Oh man, this was exactly WHEN I became a fan.

"SEASONS" had a disappointing cover, as I recall. We did alot of guessing what the third cover would be, once we noticed that the "Far away" cover was zoomed out. We guessed about seeing the photo in the water, seeing the ripped-off half of the photo, or something like that. Ayu's face was described as "spaced-out". lol

The vogue and Far away covers were well-received, as I recall. Everyone liked the painting effect on vogue. I'd say.... fans at the time were much more unified overall cuz there weren't so many of us. Everyone was honest about their thoughts, but opinions weren't so polarized for the most part. So... some people LOVE the moon/blossom covers, some people HATE them... everyone back in the day just... liked the vogue cover, lol. I remember people really liking that "Far away" was "vogue" zoomed out, but I don't remember if they liked or disliked anything else about it.

i have the general impression that fans have become pickier and more demanding over time. unfortunately i became an ayumi fan about a year after the trilogy, so i can't reflect on it in particular, but i do feel like fans back then were much less likely to dislike her covers. i think we were all so enraptured by her that we just loved everything automatically.

I became a fan a year before vogue/Far away/SEASONS and from what I can tell there seems to be more drama regarding this trilogy vs the original in regards to the covers and even the like and dislike of the songs. But like Delirium said, vogue and Far away were both well received, I can't remember about the cover of SEASONS though. Something tells me now that if the old trilogy was released presently it wouldn't be as well received as is was originally. And I think ohsixthirty has a point, back when Ayu was at an all time high in popularity people just enjoyed what she put out, yes there we some dislike, but the majority was usually pleased. Now it seems like a lot of people are never pleased.
