Ayu Merchandise Sources

Just wanted to ask everyone, especially for those with an extensive Ayu collection...

Where do you buy all your merchandise??!! Haha. Obviously besides the most popular and well-known ones like YesAsia, CDJapan. If you do use ebay occasionally, who are the sellers you like to buy from, etc etc etc?

Maybe we can turn this into an official thread to have that information readily available for everyone, like a database of sorts? What do you guys think? Although I'm not sure there are that many places to buy Ayu stuff...but a mini database! Whatever you want to call it, haha.

I will edit this post as people comment in this thread ^^;;

Yeah, the only problem with that seller is he/she overcharges by a LARGE amount, sometimes 200-300% of what it's worth and more >_>, so that's annoying at times :/ Sigh. I wish there were more legitimate and fair sellers besides that one.

That person goes crazy with the charging. I've wanted to ask him/her if I could possibly get a discount cause we live nearby..

WTF?! Is this person on crack?!

$135 for Arena Tour 06, $140 for Deji Deji Diary Special. What rip-off's! Those aren't rare at all, you can get them at YA or CDJ right now for a fraction of the costs including shipping! I can't believe this person, I hope people haven't actually been paying those prices for some of the those VERY common items this really pisses me off.

LOL I know. What makes me laugh the most is they're selling one cardboard cutout of ayu for $350.

I've bought from them once (TA version of 2007 calendar because I just had to have it) and wouldn't really recommend them as a seller, they don't contact you or mark when things are shipped or bother to leave feedback and it took like 7 days for it to get to me when I live just like 3 hours from where they live. When you take in those issues + the overpricing it makes for not a really great seller, though it did arrive in good condition.

All my ayu merchandise has either come from AHS members in the Fan Sites -> Buyers & Sellers section or Yahoo! Auctions Japan via a middleman. Buy the sets of merchandise there and you can find some awesome deals.

There are some great deals here in the buyers & sellers section, and most people who sell here get really good feedback.

I usually get my Ayu items from:
1. mu-mo
For Japan version CDs/DVDs. And since I became a TeamAyu member last month, I have started enjoying another new source--TA shop! ^.^

2. Avex Taiwan
For Taiwanese or overseas version of CDs/DVDs. I like/need the subtitles as my Japanese is not good. Also Avex here imports Ayu goodies too, but they are usually sold out faster than YesAsia.

3. YesAsia/CDJapan
YesAsia has a policy that most of Ayu's collectibles cannot be shipped to Taiwan, Japan, and Korea. This can be really annoying especially when I want an item that's sold out at Avex. >///< CDJapan does not have this policy, but CDJapan focuses on music, rather than goodies.

4. Yahoo Auction Japan
I turn to YAJ for past TeamAyu magazines, but there is one little problem. I have to get them through a middleman, and fees can be high. Also sellers there sell volumes in sets, so I do have many duplicates of TA magazines (see my thread).

5. AHS/Other Auctions
I also buy Ayu's stuff from AHS' buyers and sellers section. There are some great sellers there. I am currently still looking for some ayupans (see my signature). I also use some auctions here in my country. The items get to me much faster. I have never bought from ebay tho', because they tend to be over-priced.

Wow! That was all very helpful I'll update my post tomorrow with this ^_^
Are you from Taiwan by any chance? Or live there or both? Just out of curiosity...

And thanks everyone else for your help as well hehe.

i use hmv japan for cd and dvd,i use only mu-mo when items come with gifts or there is special editions other than that most of my goodies collection come from AHS (and a few other forums that have selling threads) .there tons of great sellers here on ahs and i receive my items a lot faster than if i order them from a " big company"

ayuuk---> i never use ebay either , i agree prices tend to be overpriced and when you find decent price its not in the greatest shape... there is too many nasty sellers and i dont want to deal with sellers that dont even know what they are selling and send a completly different item than what you saw ( simply because they get the pictures and photos from ebay data base ) + i dont have time to fallow bids ...its jus too stressfull and anoying not being sure if you will get your item or not .

i sometimes use amazon co jp for cd and dvd (when the cd price brand new is cheapper than hmv japan ) but sadly they dont sell goddies and the shipping is REALLY EXPENSIVE, however their service is great .

---> i agree with you , even though its legit everything is so ridiculously overpriced . i never bought from him or her and will never . i dont understand how he or she can get that many orders per month when you see those WAY OVERPRICED items . those fans have to be really deperate to pay 35$ a magazine and sometimes 100 for an ayupan or a towel ...

@gothicayu, besides AHS, do you know any forum that has selling threads? Because I am still looking for several ayupans! ^.^ And I really don't want to buy from that ebay seller, who is selling items at super expensive prices, e.g. 140 USD for the ViVi Deji Book, 60+USD for an ayupan... just way too ridiculous.

I got almost all of my studio albums here from AHS members.
I've gotten a few things off of YJA through a middle-man service as well, and of course YA.

Usually YesAsia.
But I bought some merchandise from AHS sellers and ebay.
AHS sellers are highly reccomended though, but sometimes you can find good deals in ebay too.

about ayumi_showcase, the items there are really overprice, but she do have some really rare items.... hmm... so unless you die die have to have it, then it's good, for for some items, especially magazines and ayupans are way overprice.

BUT occasionally she do have some items for auction and if you are lucky, you can get a good deal. In 2008, I had won an auction for Ayu CDL05-06 white color concert tshirt for USD$25, then the shiping is USD$8. so i'm very happy with that. (^_^)

---------------------------------

As for my sources, i got them from various places.

mumo
for tour goodies and Fanclub versions.
i'm using a middleman service to order it, so by the time they reach me, it's a week after.

CDJapan and HMV
for my Japan versions CDs and DVDs, they have the fastest shipping and reliable.
For preordering, if i were to use EMS from CDJ, i will get it a day before or on the release date, as for HMV japan, i would get it 2 to 3 days after release date.
But, HMV is cheaper, because on the release date, there might be a price drop and you will be charge the lower price.

YesAsia:
i used to order from them for my japan versions, but when the shipping gets slower and slower... it used to reach me within 6 to 8 days, but now it can be 10 to 3 weeks, i stop getting preorder items from them.
Now i only used them for Anime oversea version, and those concert goodies that were sold out at mumo.

ebay:
for older release, if you have a good eye you can get a good deal. I had gotten most of ayu's and kuu older singles there. Oh, and the earlier ayupans too!

AHS:
there's a nice section where we can do tradeing with other members. i had got some of my items here.
