To quote YUKI,

"I don't really want to say it, but today I have a very sad announcement to make."

As some of you might (or might not) know, YUKI's 23-month old son has passed away due to Sudden Infant Death Syndrome. Poor YUKI, let's hope she gets well soon. Must be a terrible thing. =(

Yeah. But all the J-pop baby deaths nowadays are really... first was Hajime Chitose's miscarriage (at 8 months, which is like double whammy), and now you have YUKI's nearly 2-year-old child passing away. At least he left peacefully, which is probably her only consolation. Still. =(

death of YUKI's child

Yuki Isoya's (formerly of JUDY AND MARY) 1 year, 11 month old son died in his sleep at the beginning of March. Apparently it's being attributed to SIDS.

O_O omg, that's so sad. Judy and Mary were an excellent group. She must be heartbroken right now, i'm so sorry to hear it.

I just hope her son had a peaceful death

That's horrible... I hope YUKI and her loved one's get well soon. So sad indeed...

Anyways to start off on a lighter note... what is everyone's favorite YUKI track?

Mine is without a doubt 'JOY'! That song is AMAZING, it's absolutely awesome song. I don't know how to describe it, it's just so WEIRD and I just love love love it! YUKI's 'JOY' album wasn't bad either, it had some weak parts but overall was pretty good. The music style was kind of repetitive but it's what YUKI is good at. Anyways everyone should check that album out, it really rocks.

That's terrible. I hope she and her family will get through this sad event.

On the topic of YUKI, I heard JOY first and I thought it was weird, but then I really liked it. *now must track down a copy of J.A.M.'s the Great Escape 2-Disc Best*

The only YUKI album I've heard is 'JOY', I love "BRAKE wa NO" and "Home Sweet Home". The latter is simply beautiful, it was really different from what I first heard from YUKI while she was in Judy & Mary, "SOBAKASU" wasn't easy on the ear at first listen. o_O

Ah 'SOBAKASU' such a classic haha and your right ~K+ it isn't easy on the ears even now hahaha

I got to say YUKI has one funky voice that I absolutely love, no one around me seems to understand the beauty of her voice though.

YUKI's music is really great stuff. joy was an awesome album. I wasn't quite sure about it at first since the singles prior this seemed to indicate a shift from her rock sound to something electronic, but in the end it all turned out fine.

She's been constantly changing her sound. Her first album was quite eclectic, with a nice blend of raw rock and electronic sounds, her second was somewhat more folky/country sounding, and her third focuses alot on the electronic arena.

Totally a shameless bump, but, has anybody heard her latest album "WAVE"? I loved every second of it; didn't think it was quite as good as JOY, but it definitely comes close. Close to an entire hour of pure, unadulterated happy music.
