[Bashumaru]

Ikimono-gakari formed in Feburary 1999 with two members Mizuno Yoshiki and Yamashita Hotaka and was based in Kanagawa, Japan. They started doing street performances and later decided on the name Ikimono-gakari. In December 1999, Yoshioka Kiyoe joined the group as the main vocalist. One year later they disbanded due to Yoshiki and Yamashita's studies. They reformed in March 2002 after they both finished with University. They then joined with a Indies label and released 3 albums with them until they got signed with Epic Japan Records.

i absolutely LOVE Ikimono Gakari....i had a Do As Infinity-esque band recommendation thread a few weeks ago, and they were suggested....and i downloaded The Life Album and LOVED it....it was so amazing! i cant wait for some new material!

Lol, I started with the Life album to . I was over at jpopsuki in the who is in the banner thread and I was just reading it and then I saw someone ask about the Ikimono-gakari banner and the band photo looked very inviting so I tried them out .

I love ikimono gakari! Been hooked on them since their single HANABI, and been following their music ever since. Nice info post on them at the beginning of this thread, Bashumaru!

Their sound is very fresh in the Jpop scene. I've havent listened to their new album, Life yet. Just completed downloading it a few minutes ago....coincidentally. =D

I started listening to them after I saw them on MSta performing Hana wa Sakura Kimi wa Utsukushi. It's a really nice song and look! the image at the top of the page is also in my signature. They must be doing something right if they got a spot there.

Thanks! The video is so weird o_o. Aren't they singing Tokyo Saru Monotogari? If thats it wheres the Yahooooooooooooooo at the end XD. OMG Yoshiki's guitar pegs are so colorfulz .
