[2006] Do You like Kumi? How did you start to like her?

i'm very curious to know how everyone start to like kumi. especially there are a lot of people who dislike her.

i did not think much of her when she just started out and i saw her pv in MTV Asia(taiwan channel). but, last year, during those 12 singles, there are so many sets of Birthday Eve floating around AHS that i got curious about her music. so i when to download 'birthday Eve' and ooh i love the song so much that i went to download more! now, i had already bought kuu's Secret and Best~second session~ album, i had preorder her 4 hot wave single too. but due to finacial problems, i will not be able to spent so many money on cds later on.

anyway, i'm proud to say i'm a kumi fan now!

I think she's okay; not as big of a fan as I used to be, but there are a few songs of hers that I like.

I believe 60-80% of Kumi fans are from FFX-2.
I start to dig her up since FFX-2.

Yep, I found her by FFX2. I was so obsessed with the opening theme (When it released in Japan) and I had to find out who sung it.

And then, I found Kumi and her single(s) with 1000 no Kotoba + Real Emotion on it and eventually bought 3 of her singles.

But, I didn't get any new music from her until this year/last year because of the 12 project.

It happened to me as well XD
I Luv the FFX-2 OST and they got me into Kuu.
I've never regretting buying the FFX2 OST CD (and it was damn expensive coz it's taiwan... and I bought it long before playing FFX2 LOL)

yup thanks to Final Fantasy X-2 I started to listen to Kuu and now I'm a Kuu fan!! ^^

Around one year ago someone uploaded Selfish and Gentle words for me for a recommandation.
I didn't liked the songs and thought Koda Kumi would be one of this "Only popular because of showing her breast" singers and disliked her.
Then I listened short to Real Emotion...without thinking anything about it.....

And then suddenly around one year later I had a song in my head-I knew it was by Koda Kumi-but I didn't knew the title.
By fun I made a quiz called "Which Koda Kumi song fits you the most?" and got Real Emotion.
By chance I found the download of it and it was the song running though my head!

Then I saw a big artikle in a german magazine (peach) and read about her 12 singles.
Then I got interested and downloaded her two best albums and Secret.
And I thought "Woww this singer isn't bad as I thought".
Finally I am a fan of her.
I still don't like Selfish and Gentle words a lot.
And hate her A********ING Dancemoves in Shake it XD^^

its not that i dont like her or her music, if fact some of her music i just absoluetly love, but i think her sexy image goes too far. Its okay to be sexy but from that song, ima sugu hoshii and her concert dance moves involving the male dancers, started to deter me away from her.

That sexy image used to bother me... A LOT. That's why I used to not like her that much. But now, I really don't care. As long as the song is great, that's all that matters.

I don't really care about her image and persona, and she has a few songs I like, my favourites being trust your love (I used to know it by heart) and cutey honey (the songs I can like somewhat are DDD, HOt stuff and with your smile and star). I also have a huge problem with her voice, because I don't really like it much at all. So her medicore songs that I might've enjoyed if I LOVED her voice (like in the case of shimatani hitomi) don't reach me, this is especially true in ballads.

I'm not really a "fan" of any artist, I listen to the music I like only, but because I seem to like almost every song ayumi ever sung, I think it's somewhat a grey zone. So I voted NO WAY!

i just hope that she will have more say in her image later on, it's BAD to have everyone remembering kuu as the singer wears almost nothing. i don't want that.

(Not directed to you specifically, I'm talking about generally) Are those the only songs/perfs (along with Shake It) people can only point out? There are a lot of others that don't have that...
