The Calling vocalist abducted & left for dead

I just saw this... I love the guy to death! Never thought this could happen since he was kind of in the underground/indie scene more rather than playing in huge venues and seeling millions. i've been out of Alex's updates for a while and this is just too much! not mentioning that i had no idea he got divorced, AGAIN, got sucked in into drugs and alchohol, that his wife (whatever that means) is pregnant and the fact that The Calling announced a come-back.

LEAD SINGER, ALEX BAND OF THE CALLING ABDUCTED AND LEFT FOR DEAD


(New York, NY – August 19, 2013) – After the exciting announcement of the return of the multi-platinum pop rock band THE CALLING last week, the band hit the road to play a couple of spot dates in Atlantic City and Lapeer, Michigan. After a heavily attended Lapeer Days Festival the singer was abducted after the show during a trip to the local mini mart. Alex was grabbed by his shirt and hit from behind and lost his footing. He was beaten with a police baton with a gun pointed to his face demanding Band’s “Hollywood money.”


After Band fought back he was cornered in the van with gun to his face and Band told the assailants “Don’t kill me as I am about to be a dad.” After more beating the assailants responded with “We don’t kill fathers” and then left him for dead at a local railroad track in Lapeer.


Band was left with a fractured lower spine, 15 stiches to lower chin, 3 broken teeth and is bruised on his side and stomach from the baton beating. “I never thought my unborn child would be my savior. I am grateful to be alive and I know that I am destined for bringing my music back to my fans,” states Alex. He is jumping back into finishing the record to help in the healing process and is resting for optimal healing.


Police and detectives were called to the scene and are undergoing an investigation with the local authorities. Despite rumors of this being a drug related situation it is clearly NOT the case and there was NO abuse of alcohol also backed by medical examination.


“I take my rehabilitation very seriously I was near death due to this unbelievable situation and the rumors are categorically false and not a hoax as reported.” says Alex Band.

^the band was popular in 2000s and eventually they stopped their activities in i think 2008 or something like that.

it is horrible! D: i freaked out seeing the headline on my facebook.
Alex has been ddoing solo for the past few years with his own label so only the actual people who followed him knew what he's up to, i don't think anyone thought The Calling would get a come-back tho the band seems now to be complitelly made with new members exept for Alex.

Aparently people thought it was a hoax or something, well i've gotta say the time is perfect for such story to come out as the band announced the come-back. But really, this kind of a publicity stunt would be a bit crazy to pull of just for headlines to get the bands name mentioned again.....I really don't think he could go this far, considering that they don't even have a major record deal sealed in yet.

I love that band when they debut back there with their first hit single, Wherever You Go. The colors of Alex vocal just makes me wet from h2t. Not to mentioned his cute lanky figure. I was completely shock with this news, I already thought for the bad thing when I read the headlines, thank god he survive. And when he bargaining with those thugs, said that he would become a father, that was completely tear jerking moment. Hope he get well soon and can comeback in the music industry. Thanks for sharing.
