Earlier it was announced that Oricon changed it rules and the CD sales decreased drastically. But then I noticed in June the sales started to be on pair with Billboard Japan (a.k.a. Soundscan) sales. So, was it made public which changes Oricon did in their system that now their sales are more well balanced in comparison to Billboard?

I'm not so sure. I'm aware that a maximum of 20 copies are counted per single order (just in case one buys, say, 100 copies at a time of an AKB48/Nogizaka46 single that is commonly 'manipulated'), but aside from that and 'foreign sales doesn't count,' I'm not aware of anything else...

they should just count how many copies the production sells to owners and thats it. simplicity is sometimes better than any other method. #takethatoricon
