Spice Girls: Where are they now???

ok so i got curious. A sudden thought came across my mind when i saw emma bunton's new album out..where the hell are they now? O_o..so i put together this thread..

the picture above is the most recent pics i could find of each of them. i made it myself. impressive eh?

Baby Spice [Emma Bunton]- She has actually been one of the lesser-stardom-after-spice of the 5 until recently. she just recently released several singles and her new album. i actually like the new baby spice, not dressing the same everywhere she goes anymore..and her sound is great.

Sporty Spice [Melanie C]- She has had a somewhat successful trancey-pop singing career after spice girls. but at the beginning of january, 2004 (this month) she just parted with virgin records. no word on her plans from here.

Posh Spice [Victoria Beckham]- YAY! the hottest one of all, posh. (had the biggest crush on her for the longest time ever.)..right now, she's probably sitting around enjoying her husband's millionaire career. haha..j/k. married with children to the worlds most famous soccer player, modeling for Rocawear, and into teh whole hip hop scene recently, she's probably the one that's doing the most currently

Scary Spice [Melanie B]- Melanie's just starring in several british sitcoms..not much going on in her life..

Ginger Spice [Geri Halliwell]- This one was probably one of the hardest to find information on. i'm not sure, the ugliest of hte spice girls, she's probably behind the scenes still doing pornos and crap..who cares.

man...the Spice Girls... haha... I remember thinking that the song "2 Become 1" was a good song back when I 1st heard it, but the other songs (when played hundreds of times on MTV and the radio) got repetitive very quickly! Add that to things like "Girl Power", their less-than-stellar movie, and other things, and it's good that this group isn't around anymore and quit while they were "ahead"

i've heard that they're going to release new album. Maybe it's a rumor or it's really true

I like one girl from S.G. It's Mel C. She have a sweet voice

They were one of my favorite girl group band way back before.

Victoria's my favorite spice girl. I thinks she's working on her album that's gonna be release soon...

the didnt... they released a third album which bombed...

and after that nothing was heard of the spice girls [as a group at least] ever since...

actually, geri was probably one of the most prominent ex-spice girls in the uk... she loves publicity so there were a lot of pr stunts she pulled, including relationships with other celebrities [like robbie williams] which happened to transpire around the time shed be releasing a new single or something =p but shes released 2 albums and had a few number 1s here, at least 2 maybe 3

as well as releasing books and yoga videos =P

I know Victoria Beckham peformed on World Idol that broadcasted here in the U.S. on New Years Day. I can't remember the name of the song she performed, but it was a bizarre mixture of a dance beat, a techno beat, and computerized vocals. (Imagine a cross among Britney Spears, Kylie Minogue, and BoA.) The entire song was lip-synched very poorly and she only matched the words for 20 seconds at most during the song. I assume she was trying to promote the song as her new single, but did she really deserve to share the stage with Idol winners from around the world who all had to sing live? Bad timing Victoria and Simon Fuller. Regardless, I *heart* her new hairstyle!!! She dyed her hair brown with blonde highlights and it looks great. Btw, Victoria is BIG in the U.K. according to people who tried to defend her less than stellar World Idol performance, but I almost never hear anyone speak about her music career here in the U.S.

I couldn't stand listening to Melanie C's voice on most of the songs from the Spice and Spiceworld albums, but her voice is flawless in her album Northern Star. Of course, I *heart* this album just as I *heart* Victoria's World Idol hair. I definately recommend listening to songs from the album especially "Northern Star" and "I Turn To You." If I can ever find Northern Star at Best Buy I'd be a very happy girl. ^_^

J.C. Penney plays Geri Halliwell's songs on the TVs in the Juniors clothing section every time I'm there and so does Afterthoughts, especially the drawn-out "looooooooooooooook at me" song. Eh, the ones I've heard are catchy. But every time I try to search for her I receive links to thousands of "Explicit Material!!!!" pages. I'll quote Jerms by saying "she's probably behind the scenes still doing pornos and crap." Hehe.

Melanie B. . . She has a daughter too? O.o I wasn't too impressed with her album titled Hot especially because of its cover picture, and the song titles containing bad language. So I decided to give it a listen a while ago and. . . it simply didn't work. I can't quite explain why. Maybe it's because she strayed far away from the first 2 Spice Girls albums and tried introduced her new R&B style too quickly, or that her voice isn't as strong as I expected it to be, or maybe because it was one of those albums that has only 2 great songs ("Lullaby" and "Step Inside") with the rest being mediocre.

I haven't heard any of Emma Bunton's releases, so no comment for her.

I also heard that they were supposed to make a new album, but I don't know how true the rumor is. I just hope that they won't be in a situation like SPEED was/is -- reunite to make new charity singles and a new album, but their voices no longer blend well (example: "Be My Love") and their material is pretty much the same as it was before they broke up (big exception: "Walking in the rain" which is undoubtedly one of their most unique singles ever).

What I meant was... while their popularity was obviously declining, at least they quit before they were considered the worst in the US or something...lol

btw, Krystal, that pic of Victoria's nice! I wasn't paying much attention to World Idol when it was shown, so I had no idea she was on the show til now! At least she doesn't have that "serious" look she always had anymore

Haha, the "angry/serious" look? She's much prettier whenever she smiles for the camera instead of displaying a look suggesting that she wants to kill you.

There are a few pictures out there of Victoria where she's displaying a pretty and funny smile like these: a random photo of her smiling, a wedding photo, and another wedding photo with her child in her arms.

You didn't miss much on World Idol. In fact, they replaced the group sing with her song. Basically she lip-synched poorly to one of her new singles while wearing a tight red evening gown. There were "thuggish" male dancers dancing on the stage wearing attire that completely contrasted her tight red dress. Since she couldn't dance in the dress, I assume the director added the men for the eyecandy factor. It was quite. . . interesting. Either way, I still find it quite funny that she lip-synched on a show where contestants are judged on their live singing abilities.

I thought Elton John's performance would make up for hers, but his surprisingly was worse. I'm sure you can find Victoria's performance on a p2p program.

omg i used to be so crazy about Spice Girls..now i got so many memories of stuff thanks jerms

i was talkin to Halla the other day that he told me Posh Spice(very hot and i love her

) aka Victoria Beckham is comin out again and goin to the R&B cause she is no match with Kylie Minogue's kinda music..iunno

Victoria is definitely the most successful, money-wise, because of all the endorsements she does. Plus, Becks is popular everywhere but the US, so his money doesn't hurt either. However, Posh is really too thin now and her breast job only makes it more obvious.

Wasn't Geri a goodwill ambassador? That's when she cleaned up her look and lost weight.

Musically, though, Mel C. has got more going on. One of her songs was huge a few years ago.

about that song..it's incorrect english grammar..the song should have been.."2 becomes 1"..tehy left out an "S"..which is phenetically correct..

and as for mel c.'s popular song..are ut alking about..

lol, jerms, do u even know what phonetics is?

the grammar is correct...

"tonight is the night when two [people] become one..."

"two" is a plural so it wouldnt use becomeS [third person singular] because it stands for "two people / two teenagers... etc" (probably the latter as the underlying message of the song is to remember to practice safe sex)

Wow.. boggles my mind you couldn't find anything on Geri Halliwell. Even I knew she's realized albums and all this stuff since then. I see her on TV in the US once in awhile even. I really liked her first single after the split (I think it was her first).. "Look at me"

Don't like the Spice Girls though.. I was watching the worse videos special on Vh1.. and they had the worst one IMHO.. that "Everyboy and everygirl... spice up your life!" song... anywho, it's like all bubbly and bouncy sounding, and it's like set in a post-atomic war nuclear winter... like.. HUH?
