Hmm some songs I sang for karaoke nights:

A Song for ××
Boys & Girls
evolution
M (hard!)
Dearest (really good!)
Depend on you
HANABI (really good!)
vogue

Non Ayu songs:
Hikaru Utada - First Love (really really good, very easy)
Hikaru Utada - Can you Keep a Secret? (VERY hard, or maybe because I got lost halfway hehe.)
Hikaru Utada - Automatic (easy)
And a bunch of other Asian music

Everytime I've had the chance to sing in our school I've sung something Japanese to try and prove that J-Pop is amazing to the rest of our narrow minded school. xD

Ayu:
Unite!
Dearest
Endless Sorrow
a song is born (Sung with my friend Amy. It was so hard..I mean..I'm a guy..and oh the pain in my throat after singing this. x_x)

Non Ayu:
Koda Kumi & BoA - the meaning of peace (Sung again with Amy. ^_^)
Koda Kumi - love across the ocean
BoA - VALENTI
Namie Amuro - SO CRAZY (One of my most enjoyed performances, I got to wear lots of...leather..and black stuff..and we had a dance choreographed by a professional choreographer he watched a live performance of Namie singing SO CRAZY on Music Station which I downloaded, he took what he could see in the perf. and added to it. It was amazing. xD)

wow!~ SO CRAZY is not an easy task. Put Em Up is a lot harder for me though - I find Namie's new music harder since the instrumental music is almost the same throughout the song

Yeah, I already played "Duty" and "A song for xx" on my saxophon. It was very interseting and I already learned to dance the Real me performance. It was very difficult, because it is so fast, but nevertheless I had a lot of fun.

Unfortunately I can't sing Ayu's songs on karaoke, because we don't have much karaoke bars in Austria.

Me!

Some of the old Ezboard AHS members might still remember me mentioning how I performed Daybreak (HAL's Mix 2002) at my school's International Talent Show 2 years ago and SEASONS at my 8th grade graduation ceremony. When I performed SEASONS the DJ kept the music very low and I could barely hear it, causing me to forget a portion of the words midway through (but I covered it up by inserting a few words from the beginning of the song). Daybreak was a disaster because the senior student tweaking with the sound controls purposely cut the song off halfway through (after the 2nd chorus), then she lost the blue obi that I had attached to the CD case. -_- I think I posted a very low-quality clip of my Daybreak performance at AHS 2 years ago, but I'm uncertain where the original videotape of the song is. On the bright side, whenever I sing Dearest to myself my dad always comes up to me and says "You sound just like her! Wow!"

I'd really enjoy playing a good piano-transposed version of an Ayu song for a recital, but I'm terrible at transposing music. >_<

For quite a while now I've been converting the cd's 'I am...' and 'Loveppears' to guitar tabs. I'll host 'em once I'm finished if anyone's interested ^ ^;;

Wow, I bet that sounded so pretty! I play the clarinet as well, though at the moment it's at my mom's house and hasn't been touched in a long time... I hope your recital went well, I wish I could have heard what it sounded like

I can play 'Moments' on my shamisen, and my friend can play the chords on his guitar, so we're thinking of recording it if we have time this summer.

Cools!!

My music teacher organises concerts once every 6 months for his students... Normally I choose two pieces to play - one famous one and one unusual one... Neways, I've played Who, Dearest and Teddy Bear on the piano for these concerts.. Normally I grab the midi file and prepare an improvisation for it... ("Who" is probably the best piano piece I know how to play!!!)

Unfortunately, I was busy with Uni this year, so I didn't get enough time to write an improvisation for one.. Grrr...

The funni thing though is that audience all reckon they are some strange classical pieces or something.. hahahaha.

I've performed two Ayu songs in front of audiences.

During my junior year, we had two exchange students in choir--one from Korea and one from Japan--so the instructor was interested in singing songs from both of the countries. Since I spoke Japanese, she wanted me to help the girl pick out a good song and possibly teach it to the class. So, we went to my house and listened to about 60 songs before deciding on A Song for XX as the one we would perform. I wrote a lyric in English that the whole mass choir (about 200 students) could sing in the middle of the song [we broke away from the Japanese for two verses and sang in English] but I thought it would be difficult to teach the whole song in Japanese. So, we sang that. It turned out really, really well. I still feel really proud when I hear the two of us singing the duet and then the choir coming in during the middle and also during the "la la la" at the end [they sang harmony parts like the backup vocals on the track].

Second, I sang "Voyage" during my school's talent show during my senior year. It was a lot of fun. I had to cut out the little music box part at the beginning to keep it under 5 minutes, so it started in with piano. I think that everyone was a little surprised to hear Japanese (I went to school in a small city) but, it was a lot of fun.
