Overseas version of DVDs

Why the Japanese DVDs are much more expensive than the overseas one. I know Japaneses are richer than the rest of Asia, but that's the only reason? Both DVDs have the same things? Thanks

Yup, that's pretty much it. Japanese imported stuff is ALWAYS more expensive than things produced in mainland SE Asia (China, Taiwan, Hong Kong). part of it is Avex (their DVDs are wayyy more expensive than, say, toshiba EMI's) but part of it is just the government in japan, and the standard of living there. The OS dvds actually kinda have more, since the chinese lyrics are included in the package for those. But the discs themselves have pretty much the same content, from what I understand.

make sure the dvd you purchase works with your dvd player though. overseas version and japanese versions have different region codings.

K, thanks. Ill have no problems with regions, I hope. My DVD is multiregion (the region where I live is 4), so if they play region 1 & 2, I think it'll play 3. Or I'll watch it on the computer .

Look up your dvd player at www.vcdhelp.com and see if you can change regions.

There are hacks for the computer (DVDIdle)
