Some Question About Some Videos

Just a couple of questions. I'm planning to buy some of Ayu's singles of this year, but I'm not sure whether the CD+DVD versions are worth it.

I've seen the Fairyland video, which is awesome, but I've heard that the Alterna video is like a Britney Spears video, in the same way that the Ourselves video is like a Christina Aguilera video (Fighter, I think) I wonder if this is true?

Also, about Ayu's video which has two Ayus in it (I forgot which was it), I was wondering if it's true that she copied Namie Amuro's video which has two Namies in it (I think it's Wishing on the Same Star). Just curious

It's cool to be part of a community again.

alterna is more like bjork's bachelorette video combined with the original Stepford Wives movie. No britney there at all. The fairyland video is more like a britney video but not a particular one that i can think of. It at least has kind of a poignant story to it. But I'd get the STEP you/is this LOVE? single since the my name's WOMEN video is worth it to buy since it won't be on the new album's dvd. The other singles, just get the cd only version, then get the cd+dvd version of the album.

And ayu's RAINBOW video has its own thought behind it. Lots of artists do videos and cms with two of themselves interacting (Mariah Carey had 2 hers fighting over one guy in a video she did in '98 i think). No copying namie, they just happened to decide they wanted to do 2 of themselves.

Also, try not to talk about anyone copying anyone else. I guarantee all that'll happen is you'll provoke an argument and never get a straight answer.

Oh wow! I just realized too, Bachelorette and Alterna are very same-ish video wise! But I love Bachelorette, thats one classic song I will never forget, which I could find Homogenic.

I think he's referring to that Britney video called Anticipating which also had some sort of stage/play/dolls feel. Except I only saw Britney's live version and the set was all puppetty.

Wouldn't ayu's concert tour 2000 act 2 performance of A Song for XX be closer to that sort of feel?

i haven't seen the video you're talking about though since i don't watch mtv anymore (or keep track of any american music really, unless someone i know recommends it).

MTV just sucks, plus that Britney song is lousy and old. Its the theme for some car, I think you've heard it before through advertisements.

I think it was Honda. Or Toyota? Its the same car in the Colors song ad that Utada sang.. I forgot too.. xD Who cares about Britney these days, go Ayu!!!

yep! CD+DVD is worth it! to me anything Ayu releases is worth it....

alterna video is like britney's? o_O well i dont think so~

Can we ever have a fair discussion about video similarities without actually dissing someone or something else?

Anyways, Delirium-Zer0 is right, these types of topics just dance around the topic and a real answer will never come of it since there's (obviously) a strong Ayumi bias in this forum. Use your best judgement is the only answer I can give.

Probably STEP you is the only CD+DVD worth it for this year. It's got 3 pvs, one which probably won't be in the next album and they are all excellent quality.

Well, I wasn't really dissing anyone. I was just trying to check out some things. I actually like some Britney songs. Anticipating (hehe), Drive Me Crazy (because I LURVE Melissa Joan Hart), Stronger, and the song with Madonna in it.

And bias is the best form of opinion!

Well, when it comes to music, movies, TV shows, books, etc. People tend to be so serious and "objective". Where's the fun in that?

Oh, and I never thought Fairyland was like a Britney video in particular. Its style is like any fun, dance video, the likes of which came out WAY before Britney. Madonna's La Isla Bonita comes to mind.

I just saw some pics of Alterna, and it seems like it's more The World is not Enough (Garbage) meets It's In Our Hands (Bjork) meets... I forget. I guess the Britney video they were comparing it to was Lucky??? I don't know. I haven't seen the Alterna video itself.

The alterna PV is probably the best PV of hers this year. (Or at least I think so *cough*) But you're forewarned...you better like clowns!

I would also just get the STEP you/is this LOVE? DVD right now. The others are supposed to all be on the new album, if you're planning on getting that as well.

when did alterna=britney spears anything?? i love the alterna PV...it was funny cuz the first time i saw it, the clown poped out and scared me...

But thats one of my favourite songs! Lucky and Alterna?

I'd recommend STEP you CD+DVD. One great PV, one that's good enough and one that probably won't be on the new album because it's for a MY STORY song.

I can't think of any Britney video that's like alterna. That PV makes me think of early 90s Madonna and The World Is Not Enough.

I think "fairyland" is a bad PV. "alterna" is EXCELLENT. Although, nothing like anything from Britney Spears, at all. The PV rocks. I say, don't buy the single. Wait for the album CD+DVD version.

was it SO CRAZY by namie?? uhm i think two namie is there and also in ayu.. uhm.. i can't remmber ayu vid wz two ayu... >_< there's many ayu... but my name's women has two ayu! ^^ but not like the same concept as namie's SO CRAZY video ^^

hmm my suggestion is u buy CD+DVD albums not single! ^^
its worth it! like buy memorial address,my story,and u can buy the recent CD+DVD singles if you like! buy the STEP you single cos my name's WOMEN PV is not included in my story... and it wont be in the new album of ayu in 06! >_<

That one is called "All Is Full of Love" and no, it isnt familiar with ALterna at all, Alterna is a lot fun and gothic, the Bjork video is very beautiful and unique.

I love Bjork's vids!

LMAO!! that's pretty funny.
The video is more of a dollhouse than anything else, or a puppet show, which i think she was trying to imply.
and LOLROFLLMFAO! Alterna is nothing like anything Britney Spears. Britney Spears' song's aren't even like Britney, LOL! She doesn't write them, nor pick the outfits, it's someone else's image of thought that they let Britney use because she can't be creative herself.
