Talking Maaya Sakamoto Fans!

There are so many JPop singers and artists out there, but one of them who will always stand out for me is Maaya Sakamoto. True, Sakamoto-san isn't exactly a J-Pop singer like Ayu or Hikkie, but she is defintely my favorite singer (folowed by Ayu!!). i really love her voice; its so beautiful and uplifting.
Not only that, Sakamoto-san is a seiyuu and sings for anime. For the ever-so-popular Escaflowne series, she played Hitomi, the main character (in fact, she was only 15 years old then). Moreover, Sakamoto-san also wrote and composed few of her songs.
As you can see, she is very talented person.
For fans out there, what is it about Maaya Sakamoto that u like?

I love her "Tune the rainbow". It's a wonderful ballad, and one of the first japanese pop-songs I heard.

Correction, Maaya never composed any of her songs - Kanno Yoko (and more composers, for "yuunagi LOOP") composed all her songs.

Um.. I like her voice? And the fact that Yoko Kanno composed everything up until now? Another grey day in the big blue world.. great song.

I love Maaya Sakamoto!
She is my absolute favourite j-pop singer. The first one I ever heard........I still remember the day when I first stumbled across Kaze ga Fuku Hi.......to this day it's still my favourite song of hers.

I just about threw a fit when I found out she was doing a bunch of North American performances - ALL IN THE STATES!
Apparently Canadians are to busy trying to survive perpetual winter to enjoy such frivolous things are music, or anything other kind of entertainment. I swear I'm not bitter at all

But yeah... I love Maaya so much.

Personally, my most favorite song by Maaya is Tune The Rainbow. (For Sakamoto fans, you must hear this song if you haven't!)
The tune and the lyrics is very, very beatiful. I have never listened to a song as much as that!
The first Japanese song I ever heard was Yubiwa. ^_^

Also, I apologize for the mistake...i meant to write that she also wrote some of the songs...gomen.

I KNOW!! i wish i could go to one of her concerts!!

Right now, i decided that i could take on some requests for you guys, if you wanted any songs that u haven't heard yet by Sakamoto-san. Here's the list of all songs that i have:
Active Heart
Alkaloid
Aoi Hitomi
Bike
Blind Summer Fish
Bokura no Rekishi (.wma)
Call Your Name
Cloud 9
Dive
Gravity
Gift
Garden of Everything
Hikari Are
Hikari no Naka e
Honey Bunny
Hemisphere **
I Throw a Vase from the Top of a Hill
Kimi Ni Ai ni Ikou

Mameshiba (has ** in .zip)
Midori no Hane
Ongaku

Tune the Rainbow
Tomodachi
Teens
Vector
Yucca
Yoake no Kaze Kikinagara
Yoake no Octave
Yubiwa
Yubiwa 23carat
You Are Not Alone
Yakusoku wa Iranai *
The ones w/ * has a karaoke. The ones w/ **, i have the instrumental.
(i prefer saying that karaoke has background vocals and instrumentals don't).

Some songs I recommend are: Blind Summer Fish (beautiful vocals!! so sad though),Midori no Hane (its short, but nice like Sanctuary), Cloud 9 (wow!! no words to describe this; i love this song!), Mameshiba, & Hikari Are (very upbeat and consoling).

Mameshiba: http://rapidshare.de/files/7974745/mameshiba.mp3.html
Blind Summer Fish: http://rapidshare.de/files/7974757/b...rfish.mp3.html
Hikari Are: http://rapidshare.de/files/7974860/hikariare.ra.html
Cloud 9: http://rapidshare.de/files/7974985/cloud9.mp3.html
I think that those who liked Tune the Rainbow will also like Mameshiba and Blind Summer Fish.

I don't have all songs of Ayu but I have all songs of Maaya Sakamoto.Yeah, she's that great. My favorites are Fad, Chibikko Folk, Kuuki to Hoshi, Aoi Hitomi, Another gray day in the big blue world, Getsuyou no Asa, Gathering Rain. Though I don't think she'd be this great if it weren't for Yoko Kanno. I mean, I really hate her Whoops! stuff.

But of course we would know her! It seems that a lot of people who listen to j-music got into it because of anime, and Maaya has done some themes for somereally famous anime. (Which we're all pretty lucky for since she's so good!)
