OMG Ayesha these have been driving me ABSOLUTELY NUTS FOR AGES AND AGES. I really hope we can find out where they're from

I don't think the first set are from Zipper though, for a few reasons... ayu took ALOT of these photoshoots over the course of 1 or 2 days, so similar clothing means nothing for the A BEST era of photos x_X

The other reason is that Zipper's articles & photos are fashion-based, and the article in question is based on her lyrics & questions from fans, so it's probably from Zappy or CD Hits or another music magazine rather than a fashion mag.

As for April CD Hits, that might be right. X_X But if you only have the cover for that one, then do you know where these pics are from? I have them sorted into the April CD hits folder.

omg, you're right!!! yeah, that photoshot you relate with your pic seems to be QUITE, if not, 100% CD HITS april 01, besides, that is not the poonly photoshot scanned in reat wuality from that ma, so...

2001 & 2002 were the heyday of the jpop/idol photo retouch websites. Alex Scan, Idol Retouch Tactics... most of those places are gone now (or overrun with porno ads and never update). Unfortunately, their galleries were only numbered, they never said what magazine their stuff came from so you just had to make educated guesses >_<!!

That REALLY is the case (I have the same set of pics for that issue of popteen).... and sometimes magazines have 2 or more shoots included, some shoots have photos used in multiple magazines.... it makes sorting out the A BEST era pictures nothing short of a nightmare.

And monochrome is the japanese website some of us go to to figure out her tv appearances, movies, dramas, tour dates, etc... it's a GREAT database, but it's all in japanese. The "BOOK" section there includes a list of all the magazines she's appeared in, and I just looked for everything from mid-2001 with the title "Dear Ayu", since that title is displayed pretty big on one of the american flag pics. That was the only match!
