NO LINE ON THE HORIZON

U

2

The cover of the album was shot by famed Japanese photographer, Hiroshi Sugimoto, and supposedly represents the sea meeting the sky.

Any fans of U2 here? I was eager to listen to their new album, but was only able to order it recently. My brother told me I shouldn't have ordered it because he said the whole thing sucked (he downloaded the album beforehand ). I had not listened to any song from it yet. I just received it yesterday, and I actually love this album. The songs are calmer and laid back compared to HOW TO DISMANTLE AN ATOMIC BOMB, and maybe a little less pop-commercial, but maybe it's just me, not sure. The whole thing didn't sink in at first listen, so I thought it was a little bit dull, but then, now I'm actually loving it. Magnificent is, yeah, magnificent, i love the guitars, so catchy. I'm addicted to it. And I LOVE Unknown Caller, specially the guitar solo in the end. The old school 70's "disco" rock on both Get On Your Boots and specially Stand Up Comedy are very good imo . FeZ-being born has great instrumentation..quite mysterious. "i'll Go Crazy If I Don't go Crazy Tonight" is probably the poppiest most usual U2 song on the album. it's still pretty catchy imo. I love the album as a whole. Maybe not a fan of a song or two on it, but overall, I definitely didn't regret buying it!

No thoughts on the album, but THIS PICTURE IS POPPING UP EVERYWHERE. It came up 3 weeks ago in my photography class, and on Friday in my Japanese art history class. And here it is again!! O_O

LOL...might be...but I don't like U2 anyways. When I saw the picture the previous two times, it was completely in the context of art and had nothing to do with U2.

I remember reading a few weeks ago that this little-known American band was sueing U2 because their album cover, released a few years ago, looked exactly the same (Photograph, title font ETC)

But if the photo is so popular, then it's no surprise that it'd be used so much. I can't remember the name of the band though..==; LOL.

I've listened to a bit of the album and I like what I hear so far. <3

I'm a huge fan of U2 ever since I was born... But I don't really enjoyed listening to No Line On The Horizon as much as I did when I first listened to Pop, ATYCLB or HTDAAB... It's a bit repetitive compared to previous works. Still, a good album for me

Anyway, I can't wait to see them live again in the U2 360' Tour, I may go to Chicago or L.A. but I hope they return to Buenos Aires in late 2010. The revealed stage design is AMAZING and the tickets not overpriced
