Ayu Playbuttons Not Working?

Today I took my playbuttons out after not touching them for more than a year. I bought them back in 2012. Both of them could not be played so I figured that it might be cos they ran out of battery so I decided to charge them.

However, even after charging they still don't work. One of them had static sounds when I pressed play and stopped only when I let go. I think they're spoilt

How are your playbuttons? Do they still work?
