Shu-Ya's hair...

Okay, my deepest apologies if this is in the wrong section.

Anyway, I just watched ASIA TOUR 2007 and the Marionette PV and I'd like to know some stuff about Shu-Ya's hair...

It's basically dyed Blond with a streak of black at the front, right? Does anyone know how he does that? Cos I'm thinking of getting that hair at the end of this year.

Also, I'd like to know if I need to have super long hair first or anything... and if anyone has a lot of screen-caps of Shu-Ya from both the ASIA TOUR and the PV of Marionette from as many possible angles as possible would be greatly appreciated too!

Haha, if I was a guy, I'd LOVE to have his hair too XD I have a few screencaps from Marionette, but from AT07 was a little hard, too blurry and stuff.

Not that many angles, but I guess you can see it better? I actually made these screencaps a while ago.

I'm currently uploading them, please wait!

EDIT: Here!

From his right:

From his left:

From the back:

LOL, please don't ask me why I have a lot of his pictures XD Not that many angles, but I guess you can see it better?

From what I rememver, Shuya's hair in AT07 is slightly different from the Marionette PV. I like it more in AT07, personally. I took some screenshots the other night, I also posted some of them on my livejournal. Here:

I have a lot more than this, but they are on my personally computer at home, and I'm at work right now. I'll try to post more later today.

I think this is a really hot hairstyle, but it wouldn't fit for everyone. Be sure that you're ready to let your hair grow, because the front bangs are very long. I would advise you let them grow long than what it looks like on the pictures, since when the hairstylist will cut them, it's likely he/she will have to fix and arrange it properly according to you liking, so then if it's longer, it allows for more 'space' and 'freedom'. If they aren't long enough, and he/she cuts them wrong, or you don't like it, then you'll have to wait for your hair to grow again.

I used to go to the hair salon a lot, and many of my guy friends in high school had funky hair styles. The way Shuya's hair is dyed, really isn't hard. All he did was bleach his head, but left the front bank brown, or dyed it black. I'm not sure what his hair looks naturally, so it's possible he dyed the front bangs too. If you don't know how to dye your hair on your own, or don't know anyone that can do it for you, be sure to see a professional. I always get my mother to dye my hair, but she's been dying her own hair for 10 years. Be sure to have someone that's done it more than once before.

And be aware that depending on how dark your hair is right now, the amount of time the bleach will be in your hair varies. The darker your hair is, the longer the bleach will have to remain in your hair. And bleach can be very strong, and can burn skin too. If you're doing your entire head like that, you might feel it burn and it can hurt a bit. But Shuya's doesn't seem blond to the point where it would hurt, so I think you should be okay.

I hope this helps ^_^;;

Also. I might be wrong about a few things, this is about my personal experience and what I've learned over the years. Consulting a professional is always the best idea. Bring pictures, and take the time to find the right hairstylist for you. Not every hairstylist will be able to do exactly what you want. Go pay a visit to a few hair salon and ask lots of questions :3

Lol omg big thanks to the two of you! Yeah, I'm definitely not going to dye it myself... most probably will go to the famous salons... Now I'm just kind of worried how people are going to generalize me if I get this hair (because blond dudes in Singapore are considered as gangsters...)

@majra: I know 8D Its soooo tasty~~ I love it <3
Until that day... performance from AT07 is my favorite of all performances, so I'd been taking screenshots like crazy. There are more that I really like, but can't seem to pause at the right time or take a screenshot of good quality. Sometimes because they are moving, it looks odd. There are more on my livejournal(link in signature, see Previous Post, or click on the 12 in the calendar to the right), but they aren't of Shuya, just the performance over all.

@waterballoon: Well, it's up to you. Maybe ask people around you before you do it. Sure, it'll cost quite a bit of money, but if you don't like it after, you can cut it and/or re-dye it again. Just make sure to wait a day or two in between. Also, when you bleach your hair so much, be sure to use conditioner after and everytime your shampoo your hair. Cause bleach is bad and will dry and break the hair. And I imagine Shuya uses quite a bit of gel and/or hairspray to keep them up like that xD

Lol, certainly, his hair looks unnaturally spiked and it doesn't look waxed/gelled, I think he used a lot of hairspray lol.

Wouldn't using hairspray make his hair look stiff and stuff? I don't know, I don't use those hair products.

Well, in the second screencap, his hair looks pretty soft and shiny to me, kinda reminds me of a teddy bear. Ayu must be having fun stroking his hair in the Taskinst video. XD And yes, Until that day was my favourite performance too, too hot, and I love the pole-dancing! You know what I did to catch the exact moments? I first take the part I want using VirtualDub, and transferred in to ImageReady. ImageReady has that frame by frame thing, so it was awesome!

I tried really different ones and VLC seems to work best, even if the time between pressing the pause and the video actually pausing takes one or two seconds. I probably installed and uninstalled 10 different programs the night I wanted to start taking screenshots from Ayu's concerts xD Ahah!

There are different kind of hairsprays. But to have that kind of textures, you probably have to use a product that looks like a mix of cream and powder. It's like paste. I just thought of that xD One of my cousin used to use it all the time to spike his hair. It doesn't look like gel, it doesn't dry like hairspray or get thick and sticky like gel. I just don't remember the name of it. Ah! Also, it's not a in a bottle. It's like a round, metallic contenant. My cousin's was green, but I doubt you have the same brands in Singapore, hehe.

my stylist has been trying to get me to do funkier styles since i started going to him.

i'm finally taking on more and more of it.

my suggestion is to get the cut first. make sure you like that. then slowly incorp the bleach streaks. if you go slow with them you can either find a happy medium or slowly take your hair there instead of shocking it with full bleach.

bleaching dries your hair/scalp out majorly. you'll want to invest in a deep conditioner.

for products i use GATSBY's moving rubber for spikey. i only use a little and it holds really well (for me). it gives my hair a textured look as well as leaving it dry looking. sometimes i spray freeze hairspray just to make sure everything is locked (sprayed farther away from my head .. about a foot) i lift some hair and spray at the root to ensure volume.

i guess i'll throw this in too:

I get my hair cut using a razor rather than scissors or buzzer. it definitely adds more texture. it can be a little uncomfortable at times but it looks good after you get out of the chair.

when styling blow dry from bottom to top. this gives good volume. you don't really have to do the side to side swipe when blow drying your hair either. just get a heat protection spray and then dry in a straight line. for me it keeps the hair smoother and less frizzed (though i don't really frizz lol). same goes for applying product, bottom to top.

My hair is naturally curly also, but my hair style is cut in layers, straight.

If you can afford it, you can buy a straightening iron. It's like a curling iron, except it'll make your hair straight, taking out all the friz and curls. My first one cost around 30$USD, and didn't work great, but it was nice to start. Then, I paid 50$USD at wal-mart for a Vidal Sassoon, and I've been with that one since then, it's been three years, I use it every day, and it's still working just as great as in the beginning. Don't buy the ones in hair salons, they are WAY over-priced. I guess I should specify, the straighting iron you want to buy will be made out of ceramic and will be small. Don't buy the larges one. Small, and very thin. If the ceramic is too thick or too large, the heat will just spread around. You want a small one to keep the heat in one area, to then be able to straighten out your hair, one lock at a time.

Of course, that will only work if you have moderated long hair. If you've got 2 inches of hair on your head, you might just end up burning yourself ^_^;;

I think Shuya could be using a straightening iron for his front bang, but then again, japanese people tend to have naturally straight hair. Another way to do it is also to blow dry your hair with a round brush, but I find the straightening iron real easy and quick.

oh i'm stupid with hair things, so i just get my hair chemically straightened, the cost depend on the length of your hair, mine was about a little bit below my shoulder..costed $30, and i had to stay in the salon for 3 hours @_@ it's supposed to stay straight for 6 months, but my hair have almost been straight for a year..my hair used to be really wavy and curly, it's good to wake up with no bed hair
i love his hair, and lol i never really watched marionette closely, i didn't knbow shuya was in there
