in 1999, they debuted aboard a cruise ship in Hawaii, and have been making a storm across japan ever since! they are currently in their 12th year of success. arashi belong to the talent agency, Johnny & Associates. they are also under the record label, J-Storm. they've gotten single of the year in 2008, and single/album/DVD of the year in 2009.

大野智 | Ohno Satoshi

♥ Ohno became the group's leader because of a Rock-Paper-Scissors game he did with Sakurai! He didn't even want to be the leader!
♥ A mama's boy! He says his mom still buys his clothes & that goes for his shoes too o_O!
♥ Known for his amazing artistic ability & he really LOVES fishing!
♥ Never fails to engage in neverending otherwise dead panned mannered verbal & physical fights against SMAP's leader Nakai Masahiro whenever the guys appear on the comedy show Utaban in which Nakai's the host alongside with comedian Ishibashi Takaaki
♥ Possibly the most quietest member in the group but if you give him a chance to talk , he will bound to say something amusing/funny to make everyone laugh in any good way possible


松本潤 | Matsumoto Jun (also known as MatsuJun )

♥ Jun is an elite in Johnny's - meaning that he is one of the only 3 men in Johnny & Associates who didn't have to audition as the boss himself Johnny-san called him personally on his handphone to join the company!
♥ Unofficially in a way or 2 loyal fans of him coined the term "Jun-bait" no thanks to his good looks and acting roles!
♥ Although the youngest, he's the most serious about ARASHI's work!
♥ Became the 1st male artist to pose on the cover of the now defunct (in Japan only) Marie Claire magazine which took place 3 years ago in June (pun intended)
♥ In AHS , MatsuJun belongs to Beauty4123 / Lisa while Karen used to be his ex xD


二宮和也 | Ninomiya Kazunari (also known as Nino)

♥ Nino is the husband of Karen's french friend Nat xD
♥ Has made his Hollywood debut in Clint Eastwoods Letters from Iwo Jima!
♥ Loves to play jokes and pranks on other members!
♥ A self proclaimed Otaku!
♥ Together with Ohno , both of them form a duo called OhMiya which displayed a lot of *ahem* fanservice moments to the delight of fans!
♥ He especially has two mistresses from AHS, which are dreamland2.0 & ll moments ll !


櫻井翔 | Sakurai Sho

♥ Sho may seem to be the most manly in the group - but he's the biggest scaredy cat & he surprisingly screamed a lot more lesser than Aiba LOL LOL LOL during a special broadcast of Himitsu no Arashi-chan where they had to go in to investigate an inn that was 'haunted' ! & Sakurai can run REALLY fast . Faster than Aiba anytime of the day LOL
♥ Inspired many of his kouhai to attend college after getting into Keio University & in the process , graduated with a degree which he majored in Economics!
♥ Also hosts the popular news show NEWS ZERO!
♥ The designated rapper of the group who writes his own rap lyrics , this's also known as "Sakurap" . Because of him , this inspired his Junior , KAT-TUN's Tanaka Koki to do so too
♥ He's known as the brother in law of KarenPang! (LOL LOL LOL 8D )


相葉雅紀 | Aiba Masaki

♥ Aiba loves animals (even though he's scared of birds & kangaroos :O) which lead him to work on Tensai! Shimura Dobutsuen where he often gets to work (hilariously) with wild animals!
♥ Joined Johnny & Associates only to meet his idol V6's Miyake Ken and play basketball with SMAP!
♥ Loves speaking English - even though he's not too great at it!
♥ In the same wavelength (brain wise & then some) as BREAKERZ's frontman DAIGO
♥ Loves experimenting in lots of weird ways/manners you can imagine/think of in the band's variety shows ! So much so that he even has his own corner called Ai-land (short form for Aiba-land) in Arashi no Shukudai-kun!

I'm really wondering... 3,200 yen for an album is quite average, but is it going to have two discs like in the past or not?

I actually checked CDJapan, and it says only one disc...

17 tracks on one disc can be quite a hard job to deal with - seven new songs, five solo songs, five singles (To be free, Love Rainbow, Dear Snow, Hatenai Sora, Lotus)...

That's an average of...4.7 minutes (4:40s), at most? To be free's 3:45, Love Rainbow and Dear Snow around 4:40s, Hatenai Sora and Lotus around 4:20s (but below 4:30s)...

Oh, by the way, first press is already sold out.

happiness will never get old, though!! and it's hard to Believe (pun ) step and go is 3 years old, too. i remember that february in 2008 like it was yesterday! it's crazy how fast time flies by.

i'm really interested to hear what musical direction arashi will go in Beautiful World! since BnMF was so experimental/different than their usual works.

i'm really interested to hear what musical direction arashi will go in Beautiful World! since BnMF was so experimental/different than their usual works.

Yeah, time goes so fast... I'm a senior, but Happiness was released when I just got started as a freshman in high school, and then in my sophomore year Believe released, blowing away the competition...

looks like ohno won't be in the japanese remake of "you're beautiful". the only johnny that will be starring in it will be yaotome hikaru of Hey! Say! JUMP. it's sad ohno won't have a new drama right now, but maybe we'll hear some news by the end of the month? they have to announce any summer dramas by the end of may because filming always starts in june. so we'll see!

But it's so strange...it only feels like yesterday that they have finished their last tour and now we already get a new one!
Of course I'm SUPERHAPPY about that. There are so many things we can look forward to in the next few months:

Arashi’s 10th album “Beautiful World” will be released on July 6. The group had been working on the record since February, but again, the Tohoku earthquake lead to a few changes.

“We thought up this album title after talking about what’s going to happen following the earthquake,” Matsumoto said.

Details about how many songs will be on the album have not been revealed, but Matsumoto had said many of the songs had a techno vibe to them, which will give fans a taste of a new Arashi.
