When did TeamAyu open?

I've been thinking about officially joining teamayu these days and was just wondering, out of curiosity, when did teamayu open membership?

Were they not distributing TeamAyu magazines then? because I just checked the first teamayu mag and it said 2001.

In September 1999 the club was only Ayumi Hamasaki Online Fan Club and had no offline component yet... It was primarily a discussion forum and some bonus material. It's name was changed to TeamAyu in early 2000 and it got messages from ayu and more behind the scenes reports; the magazine didn't happen until early 2001.
