CDTV releasing performance collections on DVD

So this was interesting. I was just browsing around amazon.jp and found this. I knew that old music shows from the 80s like The Best 10 had released box sets for Akina Nakamori and Seiko Matsuda of their TV performances, so I got curious if any more modern shows had started doing the same.

Well, it looks like CDTV is starting from last year but apparently with very little fanfare since I haven't heard of it. In 2017 they released DVDs for TRF, Yuzu, and Every Little Thing.

I'm not a big enough fan to know whether that is all their performances on CDTV or some of them, but still I've been hoping for something like this for other artists like Ayu, Namie etc. Hopefully, this will be something that they continue doing!

oh wow. i'd definitely would want that akina one in blu-ray. a namie and ayu blu-ray collection would be cool too...so many artists i'd be interest in tbh.

^ Yeah, I would love box sets for those artists. I'm even tempted to buy the ones that have been put out for Akina Nakamori and Yamaguchi Momoe, but they several hundred dollars.

It looks like for those CDTV ones it is indeed all of the performances as the Every Little Thing DVD has quite a long track list; significantly longer than TRFs.

I really wish this was a thing to keep releasing, and not doing just 3 editions. It has been more than a year since the last release, do I don't think it's coming back any time soon.

Akina's BEST 10 is so good it's worth every penny, and I'm still looking for her Yoru no Hit DVD.

CDTV has always been my favorite japanese music program, with their interesting sets that makes every performance looks like short PVs. It would be so nice to have the collection of Kumi and Ayumi's performances. Kumi performed around 40 times and Ayu around 60, so it would be a damn good compilation.
