Hong Kong versions of Jpop CDs
I'm thinking about buying Heartsdales new CD on yesasia.com (along with Namie's Style), but I'm on a tight budget here, and the Japan version of Super Star is $30, but the Hong Kong version is only $17.99. Is there any difference between the two versions (between Japanese and HK versions of CDs)?

Basically no, nothing that would worry you. They just come an extra slip of paper with Chinese translated lyrics, and the disc will say it's produced in Hong Kong (instead) and not for sale inside of Japan.
I have the HK version of STYLE and it looks perfectly fine, it even comes with the first press bonus tracks. Last edited by ~K+; 31st March 2005 at 12:48 AM. |

Except Utada's "Distance" overseas version is ugly, the cover is printed in a much darker shade than it should've been. I've never seen this happen with Avex's Hong Kong releases though.

Some overseas version have very poor packaging in contrast to original japan version. But the audio is usually the same.

Hong kong versions are alright. Although I must say that Taiwan versions have horrible OBIs. The Hong Kong version is exactly like that of the Japanese version, although it is not in Japanese.
