a japanese fan reprt of a-nation 05

credits to Wakana Tachibana at TOKYO NIGHTS :

Well hello everyone! Yesterday I had the privelege of attend the first A' Nation concert for this year. To put it simply I was blown away! I was so amazed with the concert it re-solidified my love for JPOP.
My morning started yesterday at 730am I woke up and jumped in the car and headed for Oita City. I live in Nagasaki Prefecture, and it is a 2-3 hours drive to Oita for here. I didn't exactly know where the concert was being held; I mean I knew the name of the place but its location I was unsure of because I had never been to Oita before. I stopped at an information center when I got close to the city and a lady there was nice enough to give me directions.
I found the place without any difficulty. The Oita "Big Eye" sports Arena. It is a huge sports complex with many fields and one giant Arena. I got there at about 1030. The gates opened at 1200, and all of us piled in to buy merchadise food, etc. and to wait until 1330 when the arena gates opened. It was a nasty rainy day in the morning, but by the afternoon it had got sunny hot and HUMID as hell. I got inside the Arena by 1430 and took what I thought was my seat in the floor seating, it turned out that I was mistaken. Soon other people showed up and I found out I had their seats. I was moved to where my seat was (which was further up to my delite) and found out that someone had the same tickets for seating as me and also 5 Japanese young folks (18-19 y/o) we had some discussion with the satff which took a while to resolve and then the staff escorted me, and my 5 new Japanese friends to new seats, which happened I kid you not to be way up front! we were 5 rows back from the stage. I nearly crapped myself as did my friends.
The first performers were the new comers for Avex Trax. Most notably (the ones I thought we good) were SEED, Heartsdales, and AAA. They stood out best among the 8 performers of the opening acts. After about 2 hours of the opening acts it was time for the main artists how performed in the following order...

Do as Infinity
Koda Kumi
Onitsuka Ai
Suzuki Ami
Every Little Thing
Hitomi
TRF
Hamasaki Ayumi

These performances were all excellent except Ami Suzuki who could not really get the crowd into it. Of these people the 3 performances that made the show for me were these :

3. Onitsuka Ai, she had so much energy and was happy her entire performance even though it was incredibly hot. Her last song "sakuraba" had everyone in the place which had to be 30000+ people jumping and singing.

2. Every Little Thing, They rule anyway but Kaori Mochida despite the hot weather was wearing and all black dress and stockings, and seemed so quiet until they performed "Dear my Friend" and she went wild, head banging and jumping around/

1. Ayumi Hamasaki, despite all of the other great performances last night Ayu's was the best hands down. She started with "Step You" and came rising out of the floor in a all white mini skirt and white top. She looked absolutely beautifull. She then sang "fairyland, is this love?, you.. (which she started crying during)" and a other songs. but what made the performace were here final 2 songs, because she sang then in the audience and with the audience. these were " Boys & Girls, and July 1st" I was amazed.

Wow! Wakana Tachibana actually got to go. O:

It looks great. (: It seems like a longer performance than the one at a-nation '04

Yeah, I'm a little surprised myself...she cried during "YOU?" that would be like if she cried during "Trust" or something...XD

She got really close to crying while singing YOU at Countdown Live 2004-2005, the night that I went, which was the first night. She's been singing it a lot...I wonder if it has some special significance to her lately. And YOU has touching lyrics about someone who loved her when nobody else would, so it kinda makes sense that she would cry at that bittersweet memory.

Are you sure she did not sing "Who.." instead of "You" ? She gets emotional whenever she sings that song. Maybe someone mistranslated it or the author of that put down the wrong song name.

Well, i'm not suprised if she cried...YOU is a sweet song if you read the lyrics. I'm sure she preformed wonderfully. :3
